BIOGRAPHY
Lauren concentrates her practice on counseling and representing insurers in the litigation and trial of complex insurance disputes including matters involving:
  • Personal and Advertising Injury
  • Primary & Excess General Liability
  • Bad Faith
  • Construction Defect
  • Environmental/Toxic Tort

Before Nicolaides

Before joining the firm, Lauren was an associate at a Chicago insurance coverage firm where she focused her practice on personal and advertising injury and primary and excess disputes. She also litigated coverage and bad faith issues in cases pending across the country. Previously, Lauren was in-house counsel for a national insurance company where she defended claims involving serious bodily injury and property damage. 

Outside Nicolaides

Lauren enjoys reading and traveling. She also mentors and tutors high school students in writing and reading comprehension.  

EXPERIENCE
  • Litigated and successfully resolved complicated Missouri garnishment action for alleged insurer bad faith with respect to insured's execution of covenant-not-to-execute judgment for claimant after insured admitted liability and stipulated to reasonableness of damages award.
  • Obtained favorable settlement of Missouri construction-defect claim arising out of insured's allegedly faulty repairs and involving complex issues of trigger and the application of various exclusions.
  • Resolved Illinois litigation involving "additional insured" and contractual liability disputes to minimize exposure for a judgment in excess of policy limits.
  • Litigated and favorably resolved dispute in Oregon involving allegations that the insured infringed the claimant's trademark.
