Jenna K. DiJohn


She advises national and international insurers on issues related to coverage, liability, and exposure, with a primary focus on disputes involving primary and excess general liability, first-party property, and professional liability policies, as well as other claims made and reported policy forms. Jenna prioritizes meticulous attention to detail and is dedicated to providing exceptional service, ensuring her clients’ needs are addressed effectively and with precision.

Before Nicolaides
Before joining Nicolaides, Jenna was an associate in the insurance coverage group at a Chicago law firm, where she focused her practice on litigating first-party insurance disputes and advising international clients on complex commercial property coverage issues.
During law school, Jenna served as a staff writer for DePaul's Journal of Art, Technology and Intellectual Property Law. She also volunteered with the Cook County Domestic Violence Courthouse, assisting pro se litigants in the preparation and submission of pleadings for civil orders of protection.
Outside Nicolaides
A self-proclaimed "foodie," Jenna enjoys trying out new restaurants and recipes in her free time. On the weekends, you can find her exploring Chicago's diverse and eclectic neighborhoods with her red fox lab, Stevie Nicks. As a former Montessori student, Jenna sits on the board of directors of the Montessori School of Long Grove.
- Represented one of the largest global property and casualty insurers in an insurance coverage appeal addressing the application of policy exclusions to claims brought under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA).
- Obtained summary judgment in Illinois state court on behalf of global property and casualty insurers, including ruling that client insurer had no duty to defend or indemnify underlying lawsuit alleging that policyholder had inappropriately handled cadavers intended to be donated for scientific purposes and that insurer was entitled to reimbursement for defense costs
- Represented international insurer in a complex dispute involving progressive, longtail property damage claims to residential properties taking place over several decades, ultimately negotiating a favorable settlement of coverage dispute among multiple large carriers leading to the resolution of underlying claims against the policyholder
- Successfully achieved a judgment on pleadings in a coverage dispute involving the application of certain policy exclusions to claims brought under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act
- Represented national insurer in coverage dispute and resulting breach of contract and bad faith action in Illinois federal court involving a dispute regarding property damage to a golf course, ultimately achieving favorable settlement of claims against insurer client
