Managing Partner Richard Nicolaides Talks to Law360 About Creating "Something Unique"
Law360 interviewed Nicolaides Fink Thorpe Michaelides Sullivan LLP Managing Partner Richard H. Nicolaides, Jr. for its "Law Firm Leaders" column, published in the June 12, 2019 issue. Richard discussed the founding partners' vision for creating a specialized firm, its commitment to its clients, and its growth over the past five years.
Richard told Law360 that it is fundamental for lawyers starting a firm to have a clear vision. For Nicolaides Fink Thorpe Michaelides Sullivan LLP, the partners' primary objective was to create the "ideal firm to represent the insurance industry, principally based on competency and performance." He continued, "Every lawyer in our firm is competent in insurance coverage matters, and therefore we are providing to our clients a very deep bench of experienced attorneys to work on their matters."
He emphasized that the firm's success is driven by its culture and the expertise of its more than 60 attorneys. "The idea was to create a platform that would encourage attorneys to join us, based on the excellence of our work, the support they would receive, a common philosophy of having a dynamic environment that fosters creative and strategic thinking, and a strong level of collegiality."
The Law360 "Law Firm Leaders" series features prominent law firm leaders, including founding partners, managing partners, and chief legal officers.
