That Settles It: Jonathan Viner to Speak on Post-Settlement Disputes

On April 7, 2016, Jonathan Viner will speak at the Defense Research Institute (DRI) Insurance Coverage and Claims Institute, the DRI's flagship seminar for coverage counsel, defense counsel, and claims professionals.

Jonathan will address issues that arise after an insured settles and seeks indemnity from its insurer in a presentation titled “That Settles It:  Settlement Agreements and the Duty to Indemnify.” In his presentation, Jonathan will examine the impact that underlying allegations, liability theories, and extrinsic evidence can have on an insurer's duty to indemnify and how courts resolve disputes over an insurer's indemnity obligations for such settlements.
