The San Francisco office of Nicolaides Fink Thorpe Michaelides Sullivan LLP seeks a senior associate/senior counsel/junior partner-level attorney with six or more years of insurance coverage advice and litigation experience. An existing book of business is not required, but strong client relationships are a plus. The Chicago office of Nicolaides Fink Thorpe Michaelides Sullivan LLP seeks a 2nd to 5th year attorney with strong analytical and writing skills to join our growing firm. Civil litigation experience is required, and insurance coverage experience is strongly preferred. Our nationwide practice involves litigation and counseling under a full range of commercial insurance policies, including primary and excess CGL, OCIP and CCIP, commercial auto, environmental and pollution products, professional liability, financial lines, and foreign liability policies.

Administrative Assistant - Chicago office, 5+ years experience
Nicolaides Fink Thorpe Michaelides Sullivan LLP is currently seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to support its Managing Partner and Chief Administrative Officer, provide support to the Chicago Hiring Committee and project assistance to the Executive Committee on confidential and sensitive matters. This position will perform a variety of administrative duties while exercising sound judgment and discretion. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, professional and has strong technical skills.
- Draft correspondence, emails and other communication
- Coordinate meetings and interviews (including scheduling rooms, sending meeting requests, ordering food, etc.)
- Prepare monthly reports and PowerPoint presentations, as required
- Perform general office duties such as copying, scanning and faxing
- Transcribe dictation and enter time
- Maintain files, materials and databases related to attorney recruiting, benefits and vendors
- Process attorney candidate paperwork
- Prepare and schedule orientation meetings
- Respond to internal and client requests in a professional manner
- Prepare and update Excel spreadsheets
- Assist with building related tasks, including reserving building conference room space, security cards, etc.
- Process invoices and reimbursements
- Assist with firm events
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned
- Uphold strict level of discretion
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant administrative or office experience in a professional services environment
- High school diploma (associate or bachelor's degree preferred)
- Excellent organizational and written/oral communication skills
- Strong proofreading skills
- Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding business and personal matters and demonstrate discretion in interactions with firm personnel
- Must maintain and demonstrate professionalism at all times
- Ability to think independently and take ownership of projects as assigned
- Superior working knowledge of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel and the ability to quickly learn firm specific programs and software
